The Metal Finishing Association speaks for the metal finishing sector on
health, safety and environmental matters, on the effect of new UK and EU
legislation and is consulted by government departments, Health and Safety
Executive, British Standards Institute, Department of Trade and Industry
and the Department of the Environment.
Membership is open to all companies involved in the finishing of metals,
including the metallic finishing of plastics and surface treatment processes,

In recent years membership has expanded greatly - from 60 in 1985 to 390
in 1996
Our services have been greatly expanded. Involvement in EU and UK affairs
has increased and conferences and workshops are even more closely focused
on the needs of our members
Organisation
The success of the MFA in recent years in taking a greater lead in our
industry has been dure to the enthusiasm and commitment of our committees
and interest groups. Individually and collectively they have represented
memebers views, decided policies and chosen MFA services and activities
